I have always wanted to make this dish but I was scared that the beef is chewy and hard. Turned out, it was so tender and juicy! Love it to the last bit. Next time you buy a cut for steak, save some to try out this dish. I assure you that you will not regret it. I’m not sure if this is 100% pure Vietnamese dish or not, but the name in Vietnamese Bò lúc lắc literally means Shaking Beef. Sounds pretty lame I know. Anyways this is the recipe

I consider this dish both a success and a failure. While the stuffing tasted like heaven (not that I know what heaven tastes like anyway haha), the puff was badddddd!!! I was in the midst of exams so I was lazy, I bought ready-made puff pastry from the supermarket to save me time, turned out the pastry didn’t puff up enough. It was more like buns, hence the name. However, I saw people making both beef curry buns AND beef curry puff, so it is really up to your preference what to make.

Big fan of beef jerky? If yes then you are like me. And if you’re like me then you’ll know how expensive it is to spend on this little snack. So today I will attempt to make my own beef jerky, partly because I can’t find the one that I usually eat here in Canada. So why don’t give it a try, maybe you’ll like it too.

-1.5kg lean beef
-6 tbs soya sauce
-0.5 to 1 tbs oyster sauce
-2 stem of lemongrass
-8 tbs sugar ( I recommend you add more like 12 tbs if you like it a little bit sweet)
